In the last 2-3 years we have received 2 emails from the company COPYTRACK. This particular company discovers "stolen" photos on the web and sends extortion emails to extract money.
After several searches I found out that the company is legit, and it operates independently. What I mean:
iGuru.gr uses images from depositphotos.com.
The last email we received from COPYTRACK is about the image below
The image is available for purchase from depositphotos, and since we have a subscription we are completely legal. But not for COPYTRACK.
The company in its email shows us the publication Chrome 100.0.4896.127 update immediately (0day) and asks us to pay for the image.

How much is he asking for? Let's look at the next table…

Looking for more information about COPYTRACK, I came across trustpilot.com. If the company bothers you, it would be a good idea to read the reviews.
The latest negative review (10/10/2023) states:
Years ago I bought an image online from one of those sites where you can buy images, now this company has sent me threats of lawsuits if I don't pay an astronomical amount. Ridiculous. I also don't even remember where I bought my image from as it was many years ago. So they sell us stuff and then they want to sue us.
The above criticism may not cite evidence, may not show evidence, may not even tell the truth, but it is a parameter that may be valid.
Read that too.
Why did we mention above that the company operates autonomously (and rather autistically)?
It may mention the photographer's name, but doesn't seem to recognize her as the seller depositphotos.
What have we done?
Nothing, nor are we going to do.
They are normally written in **via you. They are the well-known "legitimate" scammers!
Good evening, dear, do you have any additional information on the subject? did he sue you? I will wait for your reply, thank you very much
we had a license for the image, we sent the license and it expired
