The Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate filed a case file (4) of social networking users who falsely promised for a fee, allegedly betting predictions for games from the OPAP betting slip.
The case file was formed in the box targeted police checks and actions to combat gambling and illegal betting via the Internet.
The Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office has been filing a trial file for preliminary screening (4) of social networking users who have falsely promised for a fee, allegedly betting predictions for games from their betting slip OPAP. He is a 19-year-old citizen of region της βόρειας Ελλάδας και τρία άτομα σε countries abroad.
The case file, which includes breaches of gambling and illegal betting legislation, was formed in the framework of targeted police controls and actions to combat gambling and illegal betting via the Internet.
In particular, after proper use and data evaluation, digital and web social networking research was conducted and users with different profiles were identified to commit the above violations.
Then, the mode of action (modus Operandi) of ebluespecifically, that they had created profiles on the social networking page, with names that referred to betting and predictions, as well as with false or non-existent data. Afterwards, they either advertised, or approached other users of the said page, falsely promising that they have and offer for a monetary fee, predictions about the outcome of individual or team games, but mainly for football games, which are included in the OPAP Betting Bulletin, or off coupon. In fact, they asked for the monetary reward mainly through prepaid card codes, which are used for online purchases. Finally, to be more convincing, they claimed to have valid information from managers and other betting offices around the world.
The above were brought to the attention of the Prosecutor's Office of Athens and ordered a preliminary examination and investigation.
In this context, a thorough and thorough police and digital-internet search was carried out, where the specific profiles were identified on the social networking page. The electronic traces and digital data-data of the case were analyzed and correspondence was made with the competent management company of the social network, as well as with the competent local telecommunication and internet service providers.
From the consideration - evaluation of the pre - investigation material and the results of the research, the above data for the profile managers emerged.
In the framework of a legitimate investigation, 19ronou's home was conducted on-site digital research by specialized Officers of the Electronic Crime Enforcement in the digital media of the involved person and its illegal action was identified.
During the investigation, a (1) laptop was seized and confiscated, which will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Division for the necessary laboratory tests and a full and complete digital investigation of the case.
The regular procedure filed for the case, at the expense of the four (4) users, will be submitted to the Athens Prosecutor's Office. At the same time, the possible involvement of 19hrono in other similar actions is considered.
