Prevent suicide from Electronic Crime Prosecution

Another case of suicide intention was prevented yesterday afternoon by the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office

Yet another instance of a suicide attempt by an internet user prevented, following direct and concerted actions, the Greek Penal Prosecution Directorate of the Greek Police.

In particular, in the context of appropriate analysis and utilization of digital information, by specialized officers of the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate, a person was identified, who had expressed his intention to kill himself, through a post on of social network.

From further online and thorough police , the electronic traces of this person were identified, as well as his residence was geographically located.

In direct communication and cooperation with officers from the local Police Department, who immediately went to his house, it was established that this is a young citizen who was holding a knife and threatening to harm himself. After appropriate handling, the police officers convinced him to hand over the knife to them, while he was taken to the hospital by an ambulance station for the necessary psychological support and care.
