Over one million profiles of users of the dating site BeautifulPeople.com are freely available on thenetwork, after a hack that took place at the end of 2015.
The breach is not news, as it has been known since November 2015. But today a security researcher announced the leakage and confirmed that the data found is true in many cases. 
The dating site had reported in 2015 that the hack had taken place on a test server and that “the base data it was not that of the normal site.”
According to Troy Hunt, a security researcher who runs the HaveIBeenPwned (a site dedicated to people who want to see if their data is available online), the data has already been sold, although it does not know who or how much , according to Forbes.
The data includes email addresses and sensitive information, such as phone numbers, and more "innocent" items such as body type, hair color, weight, work, etc.
This information should be convenient enough for those trying to carry out attacks social engineering.
Note that among the data leaked by 1,1 millions of users, there are 170 government e-mail addresses (.gov).
