Debian Project: Debian, a well-known Unix-based computer system powered by the Linux kernel, closed yesterday 24 years of existence since Ian Murdock first announced the 1993 Debian Project.
Since then, Debian Project has decided to designate 16 August Day as Debian Day to celebrate annually the anniversary of the project with organized social gatherings in various parts of the world.
"If you are close to any of the cities celebrating Debian Day 2017, you are welcome to join the party," says Laura Arjona Reina in a blog publishing. "If not, there is still time for you to host a small party or contribute to Debian."
Debian GNU/Linux is one of the most used and loved operating systems among the users of the Linux community. It is a distribution based on many popular ones distributions, including Ubuntu and Linux Mint.
The most recent version of Debian GNU/Linux is codenamed Stretch, and its version is 9.1.0. The operating system is currently officially supported in ten hardware architectures.
On this occasion, we would like to wish a happy birthday to the Debian Project and look forward to seeing what the upcoming version of Debian GNU / Linux 10 "Buster" will offer.
