Decentralized Web: Although the Internet has created millions of new opportunities in people of the whole world and brought human knowledge to anyone there is a connection, he also created a lot problems which seem impossible to solve.
"Edward Snowden proved that we accidentally created the world's largest surveillance network with the internet", Said Brewster Kahle, who is in charge of the Internet Archive.
And he is not wrong: governments around the world are watching what their citizens have access to on the Internet, and we have often encountered censorship in an attempt to control what they think.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the World Wide Web, believes that the way the Internet works today "completely undermines the spirit creationof people.”
To that end, Berners-Lee, Brewster Kahle, and other pioneers of the modern Web are brainstorming ideas for a new kind of information network that cannot be controlled by governments or powered by big corporations like Amazon and Google.
Together with other experts such as the TCP / IP co-creator, Vint Cerf, Mitchell Baker of the Mozilla Project and Cory Doctorow's Special Adviser at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, will gather at the summit Decentralized Web To be held at San Francisco to discuss how they will build and sustain the new kind of Internet.
Participants and speakers at the Decentralized Web will also discuss the use of enhanced encryption methods for more accountability by authorities that want to access the data, as well as to reduce the dependency of content creators and publishers on revenue from advertisements by developing secure, instant payment methods with cryptocurrency that will be based on subscribers.
But while it is quite comforting to know that big brains are preparing to address issues that affect every user on the Web, it is frightening to think that all those who have found a way to spoil the internet by converting it to what is currently likely will destroy and the next.
The Decentralized Web Summit kicked off today at 8 June and ends 9 tomorrow. You can see livestream at site of the event.
