Disney, New Graphical Snow Performance Technique

"Snow is a natural phenomenon very difficult for one simulation. While graphic designers can render accumulated snow, the animation of snow dynamics has not been realized. Furthermore, existing techniques for solids and liquids do not produce convincing results for snow.”
This statement came from Disney which tries to attribute the characteristics of the snow graphically to fit them into its cartoons.

Disney designers, however, managed to create a new technology, which is technically known as point method (MPM) for dynamic simulation of snow. It can also deliver realistic avalanches and more generally the characteristics that make snow have a behavior that is not attributed to the techniques they use for solids or liquids.
