The dropbox announced the addition of a suite of new apps, as well as Project Harmony, a new collaboration tool with Microsoft Office.
Project Harmony allows Dropbox for Business users to "see" when other users view the same Microsoft Office files in real time. At this time, this feature is only Office-compliant, but according to the company, its functionality will soon be expanded into more applications.
Οι δύο εφαρμογές θα χρησιμοποιούν το ίδιο system control and user interface with the application developed for the iOS operating system.
The app for Android devices is available through Google Play Store, while the version for desktop systems is currently in beta form and is expected to be officially launched within the next few weeks.
One of the new elements of the Mailbox is to add a feature that "learns" from the previous actions of the user and "anticipates" the actions that will be taken for the message. For example, if the user deletes the messages of a particular sender daily, they will automatically send the specified messages for deletion.
Also, the app settings will be able to sync with the account Dropbox of the user, so that the settings are preserved for all forms of applications that the user uses.
Finally, Dropbox announced Carousel, a new application for iOS and Android operating systems, which is responsible for organizing and sharing the user's photos and videos. The application, characterized by Dröpbox as the place where user memories are stored, allows you to select and view photos from different time periods.
In addition, Carousel allows sharing of videos and photos with other users, without being limited to the upload size of the file, such as sending attachments to an email. Sending can also be done via an e-mail or telephone number and regardless of whether the recipient has a Dropbox account or not.
It is worth noting that the Carousel application incorporates Snapjoy, the startup for photo management, which Dropbox acquired in December of 2012.
