Companies are rediscovering the e-mail: What do we really need?

In recent weeks, they have been showing up again e-mail and other collaboration and communication tools. Fantastic tools with new interfaces, social components, integrated video conferencing and easy to use.communication-e-mail

To enter the spirit:

  • IBM launched the Verse service with an elegant interface that combines social networking, e-mail, analytics on mobile.
  • Google has released Inbox, an app designed to help you manage your e-mails .
  • The της Cisco Squared είναι μια εφαρμογή που τρέχει σε συνεργασία με το cloud της και ενσωματώνει τηλεδιασκέψεις, μηνύματα και άλλα εργαλεία.
  • Facebook studies Facebook at Work, with news feed and resp documents.

I could go on, but the list of technology vendors trying to deliver job news feeds is great.

But all these efforts come and go because very simply something is missing (we have seen services close): While all these products come to simplify our lives and our work, it is actually just another service serving tool to keep existing customers in the pen.

Another reality: The these try to deal with the problems of human cooperation and communication. Technology is not going to fix communication quirks or cure people who lack communication and collaboration skills.

We do not need other tools. We need less. We do not need another application. We need to simplify technology operations by starting some deletions. We certainly do not need the technology to help us communicate. We need to learn how to communicate. No more messages are needed, this may be the deactivation of mobile because we may start talking really.
