The Acropolis Monument Conservation Committee (ESMA), the Acropolis Monument Conservation Service (YSMA) and the National Documentation Center (EKT) invite you to the “Presentation of the Acropolis Monument Conservation Service Digital Repository and 2015 YSMA Publications” to be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 17.00 pm at the Acropolis Museum Amphitheater.
At the event, Mr. Minister of Research and Innovation Kostas Fotakis. Mr. Andreasakis Vlazakis, Secretary of the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Andreasadaki Vlazakis, Professor Emil Haralambos Bouras, ESMA President, YSMA Director Vasiliki Eleftheriou, Director of the National Documentation Center Evi Sahini and Professor of the Polytechnic of Crete Fanis Mallouhos-Tufano.
In the first part of the event, the Digital Repository of YSMA and the electronic catalog of Viblio will be presentedcases, which were implemented in the context of YSMA's cooperation with ECT. The Repository of the Acropolis Monuments Maintenance Service was created with the goal of digital organization and systematic disposal of archival material from the restoration works of the Athenian Acropolis in Internet.
In the first phase, documentation of the 1979-1987 Erechtheion rehabilitation operations (study texts, drawings, photographic and audiovisual material) will be made available to the public, which will be systematically enriched with new material in parallel with the completion and performance of the restoration works and other monuments of the Acropolis.
The electronic catalog of the Library of the YSMA was developed in the openABEKT environment and is available for the first time to the public.
The Repository and the electronic directory have been developed in the framework of the Operation "Platform for the Provision, Services and Distribution of Open Public Documentation and Digital Content Services", implemented by the ESF and included in the Operational Program "Digital", the co-financing of Greece and the European Union.
The second part of the event will present the publications carried out by the Acropolis Monuments Maintenance Service and the Acropolis Monuments Maintenance Committee, with funds from the "National Strategic Reference Framework" (NSRF) in 2015, which continue the delivery of the systematic publication of the scientific work carried out on the monuments of the Acropolis in the context of the restoration works, which ESMA started in 1976.
These are the MINUTES of the 6th International Meeting for the Restoration of the Acropolis Monuments-Athens 2013, the restoration studies of the Parthenon (volumes 8 and 9) and the Propylaea (volume 3), and the educational content leaflets "Educational actions for the Acropolis", "Exploration Map of the Acropolis for children" and "10 questions about the restoration of the Acropolis monuments".
