We've heard of haute couture technology, but we had never heard of printed clothes before. But as the following shows space we will hear more and more often about them.
Why; Because Aaron Rowley's team, they have developed a new project that was recently published in Alternative Apparel's Sustainability in Design & Technology.
That said project, is a 3D printer that can print clothes. It is called Electroloom and as its creators report, will be released by the end of the year.
At this time, there is already a prototype that can make a polymer fabric that looks a lot like silk.
It can create fabric of cotton-like fibers, but as they all suggest, for now the raw materials they use are only synthetic. If of course you can not wear synthetic fabrics, you better stay away. For you there will continue to be the traditional clothing factories. Otherwise, printing the printer (printing of any material, organic and synthetic) could put an end to the clothing industry, as we have known at least so far.
