The ERDi, was published in a booklet entitled: "Your Guide to Digital Defenders vs. Data Invaders! - Protection of privacy for young people” (“Your guide to Digital Defenders vs. Data Intruders – Privacy for kids!") To help them young people between 10-14 years to protect their privacy (privacy and personal data protection).
Kirsten Fiedler, CEO of European Digital Rights says:
"The Internet it is an amazing opportunity for young people to learn, communicate and explore new worlds. Our booklet will help them enjoy all the benefits of the internet while protecting their personal information.”
The brochure is the result of an international program with contributions from the EDRi network (Bits of Freedom, Open Rights Group, Chaos Computer Club, Digitale Gesellschaft, ApTI Romania, Mediamocracy and many others).
In parallel (imaginary but also extremely realistic) universe of the brochure, a group of superheroes (the Digital Defenders) fight against a group of villains (the Data Intruders). It was created by the German comedian and illustrator, Gregor Sedlag (link is external).
