Digital security company ESET has announced that it is looking globally for "Heroes of Progress", i.e. visionaries and thinkers who contribute to progress in various industries, with the technology at the heart of progress.
Applications from around the world started through the Heroes of Progress website on May 11 and will be completed on June 26, 2022.
Behind every breakthrough is a group of brilliant, often independent, creators who do great things. ESET's mission is to find these progressive creators and illuminate the invisible heroes who help our world evolve.
Those interested in applying can do so by preparing a 300-word summary, which will describe how the candidates' work has an impact on progress through any form of technology.
To be eligible for the award, nominees must work in at least one of the following areas, be actively involved in the project for which they are nominated and be over 18 years of age.
The 15 different categories will include the following areas:
• Arts and creative industries
• Businesses
• Digital security
• Education
• Energy and sustainability
• Financial services
• Food and agriculture
• Health & Life Sciences
• Logistics
• Processing
• Research and development
• Science
• Sports
• Smart cities, IoT & industry information technologyς
• Transport & travel industries
An expert jury headed by ESET Chief Business Officer Ignacio Sbampato will evaluate the applications and the list of invisible people of change around the world will be announced in September 2022.
