Η Ευρωπαϊκή υπηρεσία επιβολής του νόμου Europol φέρεται να δημιουργεί μια νέα μονάδα για την online fighting the extremists of the Islamic State (IS or ISIS).
The BBC says the new unit is now seen to be necessary as there is growing concern about the capacity of extremists to use the internet and social media to attract new candidates from European Muslim communities.
Europol officials believe that around 5.000 EU citizens to date have been followed by the Islamic State in its wars, Iraq and Syria.
Europol is said to be launching social media partnerships networks to monitor suspicious accounts and identify young people at risk of being recruited by extremists.
The service also states that the new unit will also try to remove the ISIS propaganda accounts.
