Facebook buys privateCore server security startup

The Facebook announced today that it has acquired it a security servers company. The terms of the economic agreement were not disclosed.

The company was founded by security engineers from VMware and Google. It is based in Palo Alto, California and develops security for servers. Technology vCage that they developed can be used to protect servers from persistent malware, unauthorized access, and malicious hardware devices to reduce the risk of applications running externally or hosted in cloud environments.

PrivateCore CEO Oded Horovitz announced in a post on the company's blog of Facebook that plans to use PrivateCore technology.
