Facebook seems to be trying to make VR an integral part of its platform, and perhaps today's announcement is not a huge surprise: Coming 360 photos in your news feed.
What can you do with these photos?
If you click and drag with your mouse or move your phone you will be able to see the whole environment around the central theme, and of course the central theme of photography from all sides. The new feature will be compatible with both Oculus Rift and Gear VR.
360 degree photos are much easier to take compared to video 360 degrees as they require nothing more than a simple smartphone.
With the new feature of the largest social network, the users they will be able to upload flat panoramas, Google photospheres, or 360-degree camera photos.
Google was the first to try to spread them pictures 360 with the release of Photospheres three years ago, but we didn't see it adopted as it was quite awkward.
Facebook did not announce the exact date of release of the new feature, just said that 360 photos would be available on mobile devices and on the internet within the next few weeks.
