At today's developer conference Facebook F8, η εταιρεία παρουσίασε το Account Kit, ένα νέο καθολικό σύστημα σύνδεσης που μπορεί να λειτουργήσει μέσω μιας τηλεφωνικής devices without passwords.
Facebook's new Account Kit will let developers create products where users can only register with their phone number without requiring passwords, and the developer needs to write the code that manages all entries and sequences of connection operations.
All this will be done through a dedicated SDK, which developers will need to integrate into their services (on websites or applications).
Users will be able to sign in by simply typing their phone number into a page or app that uses Account Kit, to receive an SMS with the password. Thus the user creates the account without having to give a password that he has to remember.
Facebook claims to support SMS connectivity in over 230 countries and in 40 different languages.
To make the new feature even more enticing, Facebook announced that it is offering each developer 100.000 free SMS confirmation messages per month.
Let's also mention that the new Account Kit is not limited to users who have a Facebook account.
The new service has already been tested on different websites, offered to help with testing the beta SDK.
