Several publications from "reputable" websites report and warn of a new virus that is breaking into Facebook. The issue, according to the authoritative websites, patrons of the Greek internet audience, is so serious that a Global alarm has been declared.
The virus announcement headlines are catchy enough to garner clicks, but the news is somewhat altered to suit them. “A new virus computers is spreading on Facebook” and for something even more dramatic “Global alert for the new virus that hit the Facebook“…. Global alarm...
But let's see what happened.
Yesterday the British newspaper Daily Mail, announced a bug in the social network.
The website said:
An unknown bug in Facebok prevents millions of news links from appearing on the site. Many publications disappear for "violating security policy," according to Facebok.
So, according to the internet experts of the Greek journalism scene, the above news turned into a "Global alarm for the new virus that hit Facebook."
The titles, of course, that appeared on Greek sites, have nothing to do with the real news. Trying to be a little more resilient in our judgment of the Greek expert patrons of the Greek internet scene, they could "confuse" the bug with the virus.
So beware of your "protectors". We very much doubt whether they can protect themselves, or whether the motive of ignorance can only be collection click for their websites.
Maybe they confused April Fool's Day with May Day again… who knows…
