DBA Press and the Center for Media and Democracy published archives του FBI που αφορούν τους χακτιβιστές της ομάδας LulzSec. Τα πάρα πολύ λογοκριμένα αρχεία κυκλοφόρησαν από το FBI στις 6 Δεκεμβρίου 2013, που ανταποκρίθηκε σε ένα αίτημα του Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) filed on August 9, 2013.
The main points of the publications released include:
- – Hacktivist whistleblower Sabu talks about Backtrace Security, a group of subproduct of Anonymous, who took an opposing view of the political activities of both Anonymous and LulzSec.
One of Backtrace Security's goals was to locate Lulzsec members and stop their operations.
- - References for the arrest of the later informant Hector Xavier Monsegur. Known as "Sabu", Monsegur was arrested by federal agents in Albany, New York in June 2011. The files have been largely censored, but Monsegur is listed as a FBI "Confidential Human Source" (CHS) confidant. New York.
The most visible result of Monsegur's "work" on behalf of the FBI was the arrest and conviction of Jeremy Hammond. Hammond was found guilty and sentenced to ten years in prison in federal prison in November for his role in piracy and the leak of files of the private security/intelligence firm, Strategic Forecasting (Stratfor).
