Reuters: Η γαλλική αρχή προστασίας δεδομένων, έδωσε τη Δευτέρα στο Facebook τρεις μήνες διορία για να σταματήσει την monitoring of the web activities of its non-users without their consent and ordered the social network to stop the transport personal data in the United States.
The French mandate is the first major action requiring measures to be taken against the transfer of personal data to the United States.
The transatlantic Safe Harbor pact, which allowed data to be transferred from Europe to America, was ruled illegal last year amid concerns about mass wiretapping by the government of the USA. At the time, the European data protection authorities said that data transfer companies had three months to create legal alternatives for data transfer and storage.
This deadline expired last weekteam which means regulators can start taking legal action against companies that still use the Safe Harbor agreement to transfer data.
France's regulator said Facebook was even tracking non-users through a cookie placed on their browser when they visit a σελίδα on Facebook which does not comply with French privacy law.
If Facebook fails to comply within three months, it will be fined.
