Groll for Android also supports Greeklish

Gboard: Did you know that most words in the vocabulary of an educated English speaker are borrowed from Greek? Hundreds of scientific, medical and mechanical terms have their roots in Greek. Examples are: Physics, , microscope, telephone, biology, zoology - and these words are part of almost all European languages.Gboard

Today, we present to all the Greek users who use the Greek keyboard and also to the Greek enthusiasts , Greeklish support in Gboard, a Google keyboard for your device. Gboard gives you everything you've come to expect from a great keyboard – GIFs, emojis and Glide Typing (drawing the word without lifting your finger) – with Google Search built in.

The Greek alphabet, which consists of 24 letters, is one of the most fascinating alphabets, at least for me :) I remember that about 15 years ago, the only option I had in writing text messages was to use the Latin alphabet keyboard (abc-… ), as it was difficult to enter characters in Greek
(a B C-…). As a result, Greek keyboard users, like me, have become accustomed to typing Greek words on a Latin keyboard - a way of writing known as "Greeklish".

You can try it by following these steps:

1. First, select the "Greek (abc -> Greek)" keyboard from the Gboard menu on your Android device.

2. Open an app that lets you type, and then tap or hold it once to select the “Greek (abc -> Greek)” keyboard.

3. Once the model comes down, you'll be ready to start using the new keyboard! You can type in either Glide (by drawing the word without lifting your finger).

Tap

glide

We believe this new keyboard will help users continue to write in the Greek language, keeping our culture and language in the digital world.

Gbox for Android is renewed at regular intervals with support for new languages and tools, as we work to achieve our vision of creating clever mechanisms for faster text input, automatic completion and predicting words on mobile phones - in whatever language you choose.
