That's why we are very excited to have it Google Map Maker is now available and enables "budding" cartographers to edit the maps of Greece.
With Map Maker, one can contribute their local knowledge to the creation of an even more comprehensive, useful and interesting European map. Start with their city or village and add descriptions of local shops, restaurants and other businesses. He can even help enrich the maps with national parks, recreation and historical sites, campsites, beautiful beaches or his favorite cycling trails.
Whether you add a bicycle path to Thessaloniki or an area of interest in Upper City, any map improvement will help locals and tourists to better understand the area and discover new things to do. Once approved, the actions that everyone has done on the map will appear on Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google Maps for Mobile.

On Saturday at 24 May and 17.00 at HELEXPO, GDG will introduce you to a new one on Google maps and their tools and we will meet Google Mappers of the city!
After this brief presentation and the "ice breaker" (ICEBREAKER) we will together organize the program for the "Geowalk" for next Saturday May 31 at 9.30am at the meeting point that will be designated for each group from where we will start the "Mapping of our city" ”!
Because all revisions and additions will be made as Google Developers Group will be automatically approved. In this way, we will help promote Thessaloniki's local actions, sights and points of interest by correcting and possibly erroneous information already available to Google maps, directly!
What will you need?
Your camera or smartphone, excitement, joy and a notebook with a pen to score all the information and data from the path you will cover with your team.
We will give you the exclusive T-shirt "Google mapper - Thessaloniki" and gadgets and we will work together with wonderful companies to give the best team incredible prizes!
All those who take part will receive a participation certificate and become members of the official Google MapMaker community in Greece.
