The accounts of several well-known Republicans, including Miller, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene were altered by the hacker who replaced their page headers with the same message: “@JubaBaghdad was here :) ^^ free palestine ^^.” according to snapshots .

Twitter user @JubaBaghdad told Insider that it was easy to break the pages and that he did it "for fun". Most of the affected profiles had returned a little later.

Jason Miller said in an email to The Verge that the problem was identified and "fixed within minutes and the only thing the attacker could do was change some usernames". He added that "more than half a million users" had registered on the Gettr platform.

Gettr was scheduled to officially launch yesterday on July 4th. The new social network plans to host three-minute videos, 777-character posts and videos .

The application of the new platform is available in the app stores of Google and Apple, with the tag "Marketplace of Ideas". The About describes the application as "a brand new social networking platform based on the principles of free speech, independent thinking and the rejection of political censorship" and "the annulment of culture." Intended for users 17 years and older.

When Trump was ousted from Facebook and Twitter in January after the Capitol uprising, he said he planned to start his own social network, apparently acknowledging the power of social media to the masses.
