So if you try to visit the Kickass Torrents pages http://kat.cr and https://kat.cr you will see a message that warns you that the page is trying to cheat on you.
This issue affects only browsers that use the Google Safe Browsing feature.
The warnings are slightly different, depending on the browser you are using, but the substance is the same.
Chrome users read:
“Attackers on kat.cr can trick you into doing something dangerous, like installing software or revealing your personal information (for example, codeς πρόσβασης, αριθμούς τηλεφώνου, ή credit cards).”
While Firefox users:
"This website at kat.cr has been reported as a forgery and has been blocked based on your security preferences."
What can you do; Chrome users can skip the message by clicking Details and then "Visit this insecure website," while Firefox users can skip the warning by clicking "Ignore this warning".
The team at Kickass Torrents reported to TorrentFreak that they discovered where the error:
"In order to improve the security of our users we have coded every link that leads outside the site to use a confirmation window and this time the Google warning refers to this feature that has been posted in our community. We have reported this to Google and look forward to having this security alert removed soon. "
