Goolge has released the stable version of Chrome 93.0.4577.62 for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Google's blog contains a list of 27 security vulnerabilities that have been fixed in Chrome 93.0.4577.62.
Chrome 93 except from the new ones possibilities and the improvements it brings, this version is very important because it is the last version of Google's regular release cadence. Starting with Chrome 94 next month, the company will change to a four-week release cycle.
It is important to note that Chrome 93 discontinues support for 3DES cipher block chaining (CBC) cipher suite in Transport Layer Security (TLS).
Google cites several reasons for this, and one of them is the fact that newer encryptions with AES are secure. 3DES is also vulnerable to the Sweet32 attack and is extremely slow, consuming battery and requires more CPU, especially on mobile. Additionally, much of the information leaks through the buffer and timing side channels.
In the same vein, Google discontinues support for HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP server connections on ports 989 and 990. This is for security reasons and is a protection against ALPACA attack.
