Embracing the latest developments in technology, DETROP and the DEVELOPERS GROUP THESSALONIKI collaborate and present an innovative interactive platform

In this he believes Google Developers Group Thessaloniki and with the newly established Food Team will present the project "Greek Nutritional Heritage"In DETROP in Athens, at 14-16 March 2014 at the exhibition and congress center HELEXPO MAROUSSI.

The project "Greek Nutritional Heritage"Is not just an innovative application that visualises food industry data on the map but aims to be an interactive platform for creating a digital map that will lead to historical, cultural, tourist and economic routes. This is a unique effort in Greece and starts with TIF-HELEXPO which supports its community Google Developers Group Thessaloniki. The aim is to develop and contribute to this by those who wish (university, educational, cultural, economic and in order to be used as a tool for extroversion of producers, operational and more generally country.

Designed to offer an innovative service that will add value to the presentation of its exhibitors Detrop, and to evolve into a data and information collector presented from a different angle: location. This was primarily done to create data sets where history and tradition are linked to the production of agricultural and livestock products. The platform will provide information in a multifaceted way so that a product is linked not only to its producer but also to the historical, cultural and culinary background of the region. The locations will include data on farms, mills, dairies, vineyards, orchards, breweries, restaurants and cafes, food markets and grocery stores, hotels and inns.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • To highlight current food production and its methodology
  • To highlight current production locations
  • Learn about Nutritional Heritage and Culinary Culture from the Past to Today
  • Encourage "retailers" to promote a gastronomic tourism based on Nutrition Heritage
  • Encourage partnerships to create rural and economic development.

As a direct result of this project, we can create:

  1. food production
    • Supporting initiatives that reduce barriers for young farmers as well as converting unused agricultural and urban land into "hot zones" for traditional food production.
    • Consolidation plus for the promotion and development of educational media as well as for training in traditional food production.
  2. FOOD PROCESSING
    • Creation of an agricultural, skilled workforce
    • Strengthening the success / effectiveness of existing processing facilities

    • History: We embrace our past and reinforce the consciousness of our place
