The Google Developers Group in Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki travels to Kalamata for the official presentation of Google Cardboard and how this tool can stimulate local tourism and business.
The special team GDG VR focuses on an innovative project that aims to introduce Virtual Reality and the endless possibilities it can offer to Greece.
It is based on the Google Cardboard project, a simple one device/ tool made of cardboard that gives users the opportunity to explore the world of Virtual Reality! Google Developers Thessaloniki “VR team” is cooperating with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and during the action “Presentation of Thessaloniki in Kalamata” on October 22, 2015, they will impress the public by officially presenting for the first time the adaptation of the computer simulation environment (Virtual Reality ) through a special Virtual Reality application designed and built for the occasion: the SKG.360.Game
The SKG.360.Game app is one game εικονικής πραγματικότητας που σχεδιάστηκε και υλοποιήθηκε αποκλειστικά για την “Παρουσίαση της Θεσσαλονίκης στην Καλαμάτα”. Μπορεί κάποιος να το κατεβάσει από το Play Store εδώ δωρεάν και είναι ένας καινοτόμος και μοναδικός τρόπος να προσομοιωθεί η φυσική παρουσία του χρήστη σε διάφορες τοποθεσίες και ιστορικά σημεία ενδιαφέροντος της Θεσσαλονίκης, αναδημιουργώντας τις αισθητικές εμπειρίες που περιλαμβάνουν:
Vision and hearing 360 ͒. There are 5 “360 environments” including monuments and/or locations in the city of Thessaloniki. Each "360 environment" the user will experience using the Google cardboard device and as he browses he will have a menu with 5 options to recognize the monument or location presented to him in the “360 environment”.
If the user guesses all 5 images correctly, they will have the right to enter the competition to win accommodation for a weekend in Thessaloniki and experience 5 locations "live"!
In case the user does not guess all the locations correctly, they will have the option to try again.
SKG.360.Game is just one of the different areas where Virtual Reality can be used for the ultimate experience and in Kalamata visitors will be amazed and entertained by the possibilities of this technology, especially when they literally “transport” themselves. within the destination.
