Google made a new move in the field of robotics, edtwoin the company Savioke, which is based in Silicon Valley.
In particular, Savioke announced yesterday that it has funded seed financing of two million dollars from Morado Venture Partners, Cloud Ventures, Google Ventures, and individual investors. This money will be used to further develop the "maiden" robot, which will focus on the service industry.
The company was founded in 2013. Its CEO, Steve Cousins, was previously president and CEO of Willow Garage, where he oversaw creation of the ROS robot operating system, the PR2 robot and the open source TurtleBot.
Όπως αναφέρεται στη σχετική ανακοίνωση, η ομάδα της Saviοke περιλαμβάνει μία ποικιλία ειδικών στους τομείς της ρομποτικής, των επιχειρήσεων και του design. Το ρομπότ της – δοκιμές του οποίου αναμένεται να ξεκινήσουν μέσα στο έτος – θα βασίζεται στις possibilities of ROS, which it will extend.
It is recalled that Google made a number of robotics companies' purchases last year. This investment seems relatively small, but it is believed to increase self-confidence in this area.
