Can the internet contribute to times of crisis? Of course it can. A current example is Google's initiative in collaboration with IRC and the MercyCorps, to build a light and mobile-friendly phone by clicking here, to help refugees arriving in Europe with what they need in the first place: information.
The project that the Google calls it "Crisis Info Hub" is open source code and so it makes it easy for others to contribute critical information through Google Docs.
Its website Google includes places to register with the Greek authorities, accommodation and medical facilities, major emergency contacts and currency exchange offices.
