The rumors published by Telegraph indicate that Google wants to buy the online social networking service. It's not the first time we hear that.
In 2009 we once again heard similar claims, albeit both Companies declined to comment on the matter.
One thing is for sure, whenever such a reputation begins to circulate, Twitter shares are on the rise, and the company strengthens its value.

The Telegraph reported that two companies (Google and Facebook) are hypothetically trying to buy the social network, and that Google is most likely to have them.
Google Plus does not seem to be as effective against both Facebook and Twitter, and it is very natural for Google to want to buy one of its main competitors. (Of course you could not buy Facebook)
None of the companies mentioned above has released an official statement so far, and we will probably have to wait to see if the rumors are in the first place but if there is an agreement.
Needless to say, if rumors prevail, then Facebook will get very serious competition.
