Earlier this month, it was reported that Google's number one security app Play Store It was one scam. The application Virus Shield, a one-click protection software, went over 10.000 from unsuspecting buyers.
The app claimed to provide protection against harmful apps, real-time scanning and privacy protection data. In reality, of course, the app was simply changing its graphics from a red “x” to an “n”. This graphical change symbolized that users are protected.
In accordance with Android Police, Google has started refunding those who bought the app. Google reportedly sent emails to those who purchased the protection software, notifying them that the application was a scam, and that they should receive a refund within the next 14 days.
In addition, for the inconvenience caused, Google offers a $ 5 coupon as an offer for purchases from Google PlayStore. This credit can be used to purchase apps, games, music, books, or whatever you want from the Play Store.
A very good move from Google, which seems to have not yet developed the mechanisms needed to fully control and analyze the applications that go up to the Play Store. Since it has not yet done, taking responsibility, with the return of money to buyers-victims, shows a lot of responsibility on the part of the company.
If you are one of those who had purchased the app and you have not yet received the email, it will soon land on your inbox.
