The settings below will not be new, but the guide Google is, and will instruct you to make five important security settings in your account.
How secure is your Google account? For example, have you enabled two-factor authentication? Do you know which apps can access your account? What are account recovery information if you locked out?
Google seems to have tried to make it easier to control the five critical security settings so you can be sure your account is secure. Open the security settings page to your account and you will see that a new table has been added, entitled "Secure your account" as shown in the image below. Click the blue "Start" button and you will navigate to the following five settings:
- Retrieving information
- Recent activity
- Account Rights
- App passwords
- Two-factor authentication
Settings alone are not new additions to Google's security, but a new wizard that guides you through each of the above settings. You can update and edit each setting, and the wizard will take you to the next one.
