GPT-4 will be released next week according to Andreas Braun and will be a polytropical model (Multimodal). Multimodal refers to the use of multiple modes or forms of communication, such as kinesthetic, tactile, and auditory.
The news was revealed by Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Germany, at a recent event titled “AI in Focus — Digital Kickoff” (via Heise).
According to Braun, “We will be introducing GPT-4 next week… we will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities — for example video”.
Multimodal AI will allow the company's bot to translate a user's text into images, music and video.
Microsoft gave an example of how a call center could use GPT-4 to automatically convert phone conversations between employees and customers to text, which would save a lot of time and effort.
Despite the massive interest and huge waiting lists, Microsoft hasn't said anything about its integration Chat GPT in the program browsing Bing.
Regardless, with GPT-4 being released next week, we may have to wait a long time for the new technology to be integrated into Microsoft products.
