After our morning publication (which we later noticed spreading without any reference to iGuRu.gr) the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement that essentially degrades the disclosure of documents by Anonymous. The newspaper Daily reports:
Press releases and material "exchanged via email" are, according to the State Department, the documents released by the organization of Anonymous.
Through the Internet, the Anonymous organization has released thousands of graded Greek documents from correspondence between the South East Europe Directorate, the Greek Foreign Ministry and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
In their statement, Anonymous states: "We all know how bad the situation is today in Greece, alongside the economic chaos and government allowed the Golden Dawn Nazis to sabotage the integrity of the entire country and European authorities on freedom and morality."
"Today we are dealing a blow to the mockery with a series of leaks to reveal the truth about the Greek government's involvement in espionage with the help of the cybercrime units of ENISA and the OSCE. Those responsible for the arrests of fellow lulz will be punished with Operation OP Payback.”
The following message was issued by the Foreign Ministry on Monday evening:
“Today, Monday, October 14, an online post announced the successful breach by the team "Anonymous" activists of the e-mail address of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An investigation is underway into the exact circumstances and extent of the breach, and it has been found to involve material, typically exchanged via email, including several Press Office releases."
