US Premera Blue Cross, a health insurance company, has admitted that its systems have been compromised and hackers have been able to obtain data from its millions of 11 customers. It is the second attack on a medical insurance company held in the US this year, just after her hack Anthem last month.
Premera stated that its customers' names, addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, date γέννησης, αριθμοί κοινωνικής ασφάλισης, ιατρικές information and bank account details may have been leaked in an attack in May 2014.
However, company investigations have not shown that any of this data has been downloaded from their premises or has been misused to date. According to Premera, they are currently considering the matter further with cooperation of the security company MANDIANT, as well as the FBI.
Premera discovered the violation on January 29, just before Anthem's hack, from which about 80 million members and employees accounts leaked along with their personal information. This hack was one of the biggest in history.
Attackers are affected by the attack Premera Blue Cross, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield Alaska, and its affiliates Vivacity and Connexion Insurance Solutions as reported by TNW.
There is no official announcement on the part of the hackers, so it is not yet known who or who hacked. Journalist and security researcher Brian Krebs, however, said he is most likely to be behind the hack Chinese state group hacking which is known as “Deep Panda.”
