Catching a hacker associated with ISIS attack

The Malaysian police arrested Ardit Ferizi, a Kosovo citizen, on an arrest warrant issued by US authorities. The US suspects him as the main person behind the data leaks from ISIS.

Earlier in August, the Islamic State Hacking Division (also known as Cyber ) has published personal information 1.351 US military and government personnel, along with incentives to its members to search for these persons and kill them.

The US after a short , killed the head of Hacking Division, Junaid Hussain, in an attack on an unmanned aircraft at the end of August.

Although the leader of his cyber-army ISIS he was killed, many security experts were not convinced that Hussain was the culprit behind the data breach, by the fact that he had few technical skills to carry out such an elaborate assault.

Now, according to more details contained in Ferizi's arrest warrant, US authorities suspect Feziri as the real cause of the of cyber-attack.

The US alleges that Ferizi hacked the US retail business's database, from which he stole personal for over 100.000 people.

He then combined the data, and from them he made a list of those working in the army and the government and forwarded them to a number of ISIS propagandists.

To do this, he used @thedirectory Twitter, in which he maintains constant contact with many ISIS accounts.

Ferizi was arrested while trying to travel back home to Kosovo, Kuala Lumpur airport, 15 September. He had gone there in August of 2014 for computer studies.

Ferizi is no accident. He has a history of hacking, as he has been accused of hacking at a local news portal at the age of 15.
