Newsweek's Twitter account was hacked after a attack which he accepted from the group Cyber Caliphate, consisting of Islamic State-Related Hackers (ISIS).
The hackers managed to publish threatening tweets against Obama and his family, and change the background image by displaying an ISIS fighter.
During infringements that lasted 14 minutes, the group Cyber Caliphate praised "cyber jihad" and posted images of documents allegedly stolen from the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy (DICTA) and the Pentagon's USA.
"We know everything about you and your relatives and we are much closer than you can imagine," they said in a statement.
Newsweek confirmed the incident and editor-in-chief Kira Bindrim apologized to their readers.
