Μετά τη διεθνή επέκταση της συνδρομητικής υπηρεσίας Netflix σε 190 χώρες σε όλο τον κόσμο, η company security software Symantec reports that it has noticed a growing demand for stolen Netflix passwords.
Σύμφωνα με την Symantec, οι hackers κλέβουν κατά χιλιάδες διαπιστευτήρια σύνδεσης της υπηρεσίας σε καθημερινή base μέσα από πολλαπλές καμπάνιες phishing.
They redirect users to fake Netflix websites, and wait to collect passwords, which they sell on the black market for 25 cents a code.
Symantec's report does not accurately specify how many accounts might have been compromised, but it shows an ad from a popular black market that claims to have 300.000 code stock.
Fraudsters also advise their clients not to change anything from the account details and of course not to change the password. They warn that they will not sell other accounts to buyers who do not comply with these terms.
If you have a Netflix account and are worried that it has been hijacked, you can check the list of movies you've watched recently.
If you see any unusual activity, change your password immediately.
