HERE Maps will be removed from the Windows Store

The famous HERE Maps application just announced it will not support Windows Phone 10 and will be removed from the Windows Store.

HERE maps

To remind you of the events, Microsoft has bought Nokia's mobile devices and services last year. Her attempt to buy and implement Maps HERE was not crowned successfully, and so map application remained in Finnish Nokia. In August of 2015, Nokia finally sold the application to a German consortium involving Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

The new owners of the application developed HERE Maps in different ways , όπως για iOS και , since these platforms "run" in the cars manufactured by the specific German companies.

In today's announcement the owners of HERO Maps application revealed that the application will be removed from the phones running Windows Phone 10, and that any phones that remain in Windows Phone 8.1 will only receive critical bug fixes.

"In recent months, we have made the HERE Maps application compatible with Windows 10, using a solution that will no longer be effective after June 30, 2016. For the application to continue working for Windows 10, we are required to rebuild it from zero, a scenario that led us to the decision to remove our application from the Windows 10 Store, ”the company announced.

Although this is clearly a huge hit for Windows Phone 10 users, but Microsoft promises not to let things happen. Develop an application named Windows 10 Maps based on the HERE Maps platform and include mapping data. Microsoft promises to improve its new application often.
