New hoax, and this time it is released by a foreign "news" site. And we mention this as there are "experts" who write on well-known Greek blogs, known for collecting clicks and likes, that Greek websites create hoaxes, to collect clicks. Fortunately, the online public can and does judge, what is information and what is risk, how important is timely information on security issues and which "leaflets" use conspiracies to survive. The news was posted by our friends at Secnews.gr we republish it as it is:
Not all the information is available on the internet, but many users fall victim to all sorts of traps, more or less elaborate.
One of these comes from the satirical website of the National Report, when one article reports that some Americans have unintentionally implanted their RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) chip.
Including a reference to a study conducted by Wyoming Institute of Technology (WIT) scientists, the National Report article seems convincing. However, WIT's information is also of a dubious nature.
False news spread through social networks, where it was estimated with thousands of "Likes" and notifications, according to online sources, and claims that implantation of RFID to US citizens occurs during dental work, but it can be done in any other point of the body.
False news says the purpose of the chip is to reveal "personal identities, including social security numbers, and medical records."
All that is reported in the news is false and reports from the National Report and the Wyoming Institute of Technology (WIT) are aimed at satire.
