This trip is part of the wider "Seeds for the Future" program implemented by Huawei internationally, as a self-proven ambassador of high technology in China. Its aim is to acquaint young people with the emerging economy and culture of China, but mainly to bridge academic ICT knowledge with the needs of the market and the telecommunications industry. The program seeks to develop new ICT industry talent locally, impart knowledge, promote understanding and interest in the industry, and ultimately contribute to the development of digital communities in every Huawei-based country.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Panagiotis Mihalos, represented by Mr. Ilias Dinteiroos, Advisor, who pointed out the significant contribution of China and the Chinese enterprises to the recovery of the Greek Economy, thanked Huawei Technologies for the investment which is doing with this program of Greek students training in the formation of tomorrow's Greek scientists, and wished the students to take this opportunity to gain know-how as well as acquaintance better Chinese culture.

Mr. Panagiotis Demestichas, Professor at the University of Piraeus and Chairman of the Department of Digital Systems, emphasized that "this initiative is beneficial both for Huawei and for the students and universities that will take part. Huawei has a chance to get in touch with its most important asset s, its human resources. Greece has young professionals with excellent education, training and appetite for work who aspire to build their careers contributing to the economy and society. It is a once in a lifetime experience for students to come into contact with Chinese culture and a company that is a global leader in its industry.”

Introducing the program of the visit, the Managing Director of Huawei Technologies, Mr. Mao Haohui, stressed that with the program "Telecom Seeds for the Future" "Huawei enriches the lives of young people through communication and gaining experiences. During the 14 days of the pre, the Greek students from the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens will take a tour of Huawei's headquarters in Shenzhen, learn Chinese and calligraphy while visiting important sights.
