Immutouch is a bracelet that vibrates when your hand approaches your face. Its creators redesigned it to force you to stop touching your face and consequently protect yourself from the coronavirus.
The coronavirus could not escape either technology. So in an effort to help (or win) the makers of Immutouch, a wristband-shaped device, redesigned their invention to vibrate when you touch your face.
Touching your face is a common way in which the virus can travel from knobs or other objects to the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, etc. and make you sick. The Immutouch bracelet it has an accelerometer that “senses” the movement of your hands 10 times per second. Based on the initial calibrations you give it, Immutouch understands when you go to touch the eyea, your nose or mouth and vibrate together with a buzzer sound.
Ο σκοπός είναι να εκπαιδευτεί ασυναίσθητα ο εγκέφαλός σας να κόψει την συνήθεια να ακουμπάτε το πρόσωπο σας. Το πακέτο συνοδεύεται με μία application for smartphones that help you track your progress as you try to keep your dirty hands off your face.
And of course it isn't free. It sells for $50 and is ready to ship immediately. You can wear it on your "good" hand, which is the one most likely to touch your face, or get one for each hand to maximize results (!!).
Immutouch's original idea was to help people who suffer from trichlothilomania, a compulsive disorder, that the person suffering from it tends to uproot the hair because he has no control over his impulses. As a technique it is very good for helping people suffering from this rare anxiety disorder but apparently because the clientele is small and the profits small, its makers have turned to (almost) coronavirus pandemic, of which more than 114.000 people worldwide are ill so far.
