According to a report by VentureBeat, Intel is working hard to make a system-on-chip (SoC) for the next iPhone. The company can currently have up to 1.000 people working on this project.
There is no agreement between Intel and Apple (at least not officially). Apple may also be looking towards TSMC and Samsung, οι οποίοι είναι οι δύο σημερινοί εταίροι της για το chipset του iPhone.
InteI allegedly uses node technology 14nm, which respectively will create a smaller SoC. The report also states that Intel is also developing 10nm node technology.
The new SoC will be designed by Apple, which is said to be interested in working with the LTE architecture on its chipset as well as the processor Ah. Inte will probably oversee the construction of the SoC.
So far everything is very theoretical, but there is one detail that Apple may be seriously considering - the Apple Watch. Today's Apple Watch has one system-in-package which takes various components and adhesive alloys together.
It's bulkier than an SoC, but IF Apple wants to make the next one Apple Watch thinner and connect via LTE, Intel can be in the game.
