Intel he said a new technology ασφάλειας που ονομάζει “τεχνολογία ανίχνευσης απειλών της Intel” ή “Intel Threat Detection Technology.” Intel Threat Detection Technology can be described as a set of features that help the company's partners detect threats (exploits) for more security.
Intel currently has the new threat detection technology with two features and plans to introduce additional features in the future.
The first is called accelerated memory scanning or Accelerated Memory Scanning, which scans the company's processors in the embedded Intel graphics processor.
The benefits of Accelerated Memory Scanning are important: Intel notes that technology improves scanning performance while reducing power consumption and computer resources needed for scanning.
The initials benchmarks according to the company showed that CPU usage was reduced from 20% to 2%, although it should be verified by independent researchers.
Intel has revealed that Microsoft is integrating Accelerated Memory Scanning into Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection and that the functionality is already available. The company didn't provide further details, but it's possible that we'll see Microsoft roll out the new functionality through Windows Defender updates on systems that support Advanced Threat Protection.
Advanced Threat Protection is only available for Windows 10 at this time, and only for devices running Windows 10 Fall Creators Update or a later version.
The second feature of Intel Threat Detection Technology is Intel Advanced Platform Telemetry.
Intel antivirus scanning can improve system performance and any such effort is welcome, especially if it improves battery life and comes with higher scanning rates.
Advanced memory scanning should of course be tested to see if Intel benchmarks really are. Needless to say, we should be careful when we listen to any kind of telemetry data collection.
