Do you want a satellite phone built into your smartphone instead of some bulky device? The iridium GO! it's what you need…..but beware.
The Iridium GO! it looks like a normal mobile device Hotspot which you can use to connect your devices into one network mobile phone. But instead of a conventional cellular connection, the device connects to Iridium's communications satellites orbiting about 500 miles above Earth.
With Iridium GO! you can connect up to five satellite devices using the Iridium Wi-Fi that lets you do the following:
Making voice calls
Fast GPS or check-in messages
Easy settings
Post Twitter posts
Turn on extraordinary emergency SOS
Iridium GO! is manufactured with MIL-STD 810F spec standards and is water and dust resistant (IP65).
It comes with a battery that lasts for about 7 hours of use and 16 hours of standby.
But let's look at the disadvantages that "ordinary mortals" who dream of a satellite device should know.
First of all, the device is not cheap. The device alone will cost you about $ 800, and "data minutes" are also expensive (1000 "data minutes" cost another $ 800).
Data transmission speed is slow. Very slow even compared to 3G speeds. The tool will not allow you to watch your favorite videos.
Despite the downsides, if you want or need to stay connected when there is no connection is the fastest and easiest way to do it and works surprisingly well if you do not expect 3G / 4G performance from the service.
