IP addresses used by ISIS are likely to be among those sold this year to Saudi telecommunications companies, Britain's government.
The admission of responsibility came after pressure was put on the UK government by hackers from the VandaSec group. The team revealed that someone from the Ministry Work and Pensions set up the ISIS accounts at Twitter. The response from the prime minister's office, however, states that the IP addresses were sold for the benefit of taxpayers.
In July of 2015 was announced to end IPv4 addresses. The event triggered an increase in their prices and created puzzlers in the markets, since they all rushed to buy the available ones.
This created a "strange second-hand market" and an internet, which no longer has the right geographical distribution.
Investigators at the Mirror, meanwhile, have found that addresses no longer appear to be registered in Saudi Arabia, as they have discovered a "path" leading back to London.
One millionfaceof the Council of Ministers told TNW:
The government owns the millions of unused IP addresses that will be sold with a good return to encourage taxpayers. We have sold some of these addresses to telecom companies in the UK but also internationally to allow their customers to connect to the internet. We think carefully about which companies we sell the addresses, but how their customers use them is beyond our control.
Nevertheless, the problem remains: ISIS has Internet and even European. Some facts should probably be accepted as they are…. After all, anyone with money can get everything from weapons to internet connections.
