Several accounts at Twitter belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS) online group were hacked yesterday and were posting gay messages with links to gay porn.
A hacker associated with Anonymous and using the WauchulaGhost alias, launched the first hack on ISIS accounts on Twitter months ago.
During this time, he – except by hackers Ebony and Yeti – has managed to take control of over 200 Twitter accounts belonging to ISIS supporters.
Many of them, however, have since been removed from Twitter as they tend to delete propaganda accounts.
After the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando last Friday, hackers with access to ISIS accounts began replacing propaganda messages with pictures and rainbow flags, but also messages and connections leading to same-sex porn.
Hackers, however, want to be clear that they did not use porn with the intent of insulting Muslims but clarifying that they are targeting jihadi extremists. "
WauchulaGhost told Newsweek:
"I did it for the lives lost in Orlando. "ISIS accounts were spreading and praising the attack, so I thought I would defend those who were lost."
