Kakao Map come Korean 3D maps

The company Kakao manages it of South Korea's KakaoTalk, and has apparently launched a new map service that supports 3D, using a 'vector system' for more accurate mapping.

Η εφαρμογή για τους χάρτες είναι ένας ανασχεδιασμός της εφαρμογής Daum Map που κυκλοφόρησε το 2009. Η εταιρεία Kakao πρόσθεσε την τελευταία λέξη της τεχνολογίας χαρτογράφησης στην εφαρμογή μετά από την of the two companies and collects the data on its servers.Kakao

Kakao said South Korea's map service is the first to use a vector system where map data is loaded in real-time by its servers, and allows users 3D rotations instead of conventional zoom in and out.

So by dragging your two fingers up and down on the , the map will tilt and show buildings according to their actual height. By circling with your two fingers on the screen you can rotate the map where you want it.

The 3D sky view is another special feature of the Kakao Map app, with data from the country's transport ministry through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in July. The map displays dummies using this data, rather than data taken from various satellites.

Currently, the service can only be used in the Korean cities of Seoul and Seongnam, but according to the company it will be expanded very soon.

The map also provides shuttle times for various destinations, provides weather information, suggestions for restaurants and theaters around the city's hotels.

A version for iOS devices will be released within the year according to ZDNet.
