Digital criminals obtain valuable data from users through various methods. The fastest way to "penetrate" their wallets is to gain access to the accounts that users have in payment systems, online banking services or online stores that store credit or debit card data. Among the many techniques they use to collect this information are phishing websites, which impersonate official websites, malware that collects and passwords etc.

According to , 53% of European users experienced financial digital attacks in the past year, with 5% of respondents reporting that they suffered a loss of money. When explaining how they lost the money, 23% said hackers stole their money by accessing payment service accounts, 5% that they were tricked into entering their login information on a fake website, and 10% that their login information was stolen from malware. On average, users who fell victim to online theft lost $313, but one in six victims lost more than $1.000 to online fraud.

Στις πληροφορίες που μπορούν να βρεθούν στο A user's mail often includes emails with account access information, which have been sent by payment services and online stores, responding to requests for registration or password recovery.

In addition, 27% of Europeans reported incidents involving malware over the past year, with one in five having led to financial losses. The average financial loss from malware was $ 154 per European user. This amount also includes expenses related to the treatment of "infections", the help of IT specialists and the purchase of specialized software.

“Some users think of digital threats as something distant, that can only harm someone in cyberspace. However, many online threats have clear effects on life, be it data loss, or stolen money. Instead of paying the consequences, it is wiser to take care of one's safety in advance," said Elena Kharchenko, Head of Consumer Product Management at Kaspersky Lab.

Η Kaspersky Lab has developed an extensive "arsenal" of tools that offer on the Internet. The Kaspersky Internet Security - multi-device 2015 includes, in addition to anti-malware and anti-phishing tools, Safe Money technology designed to provide extra protection for financial transactions (for Windows environments). Also, the Kaspersky Password Manager is a solution that covers multiple platforms for secure password storage. Allows users to create and store powerful passwords on webpages and applications, thus helping to enhance the security of online accounts.
