With the signing of the new agreements, Kaspersky Lab's cooperation with INTERPOL and Europol in the fight against digital crime moves to a new level. On September 30, 2014, Eugene Kaspersky, President and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, and Ronald K. Noble, Secretary General of INTERPOL, signed a cooperation agreement under which the company will provide information products and services and ongoing support to INTERPOL's Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) in Singapore.

The following day, Eugene Kaspersky and Troels Oerting, Deputy Director and Head of Europol's European Digital Crime Center (EC3), signed a memorandum of understanding, paving the way for closer cooperation between Kaspersky Lab and European law enforcement. Both agreements were signed on special ceremonies in Singapore, where the "INTERPOL-Europol Cybercrime Conference" is hosted (October 1-3, 2014).

In this context, Eugene Kaspersky said: "It is really a" leap forward "in terms of the global fight against digital crime. Our partnerships with INTERPOL and Europol are pioneering achievements for the whole digital security industry. These public-private partnerships are vital to enhancing security in the digital world. These partnerships are perfectly aligned with our corporate mission of "saving the world" from digital threats. As threats escalate and their complexity continues to grow, we must join forces with national and international prosecution authorities and other security companies to effectively combat the ever-increasing risks. "

The new agreement with INTERPOL stipulates that the company will provide information on digital threats, as well as solutions and software to build and run the IGCI Digital Forensics Lab, as well as other functions of the newly established center. Kaspersky Lab will organize and conduct a series of training programs for INTERPOL officers, aimed at transferring expertise around malware analysis, digital forensics and financial threat investigation. Also, one of the company's top malware analysts will be temporarily stationed at IGCI. It is noted that the collaboration between Kaspersky Lab and INTERPOL began in April 2013.

Ronald Noble, Secretary General of INTERPOL, commented: “The complex and ever-changing nature of the digital threat landscape requires a high level specialisation. In addition, law enforcement cooperation with the private sector to effectively fight digital crime and strengthen digital security is particularly important. INTERPOL's agreement with Kaspersky Lab is an important step in creating a global alliance against digital crime. It also enables us to ensure that we provide our member countries with the most up-to-date support to address these threats."

For his part, Troels Oerting, Deputy Director and Head of Europon's EC3, commented: "This Memorandum of Understanding is a very good foundation and a foundation for extending our already good cooperation with Kaspersky Lab in our joint effort to combat and prevent digital crime in Europe and internationally. It is important to join forces, share our experiences and knowledge and pursue our common goal - a free and secure digital world with transparency. This is another big step in the right direction for all of us! "
